NBCC Foundation
The mission of the NBCC Foundation is to leverage the power of counseling by strategically focusing resources for positive change. This work improves the mental health of the underserved and never-served throughout the world.
The Foundation’s strategy is to award scholarships and fellowships to master's and doctoral-level counseling students pursuing careers as professional counselors who are affiliated with underserved populations and commit to serving them after graduation. The Foundation also awards capacity-building grants to fund expansion efforts to increase mental health resources in rural and minority communities where access to mental health care is extremely limited.
Since 2010, the NBCC Foundation has awarded over $7,000,000 to individuals commited to expanding and improving mental health services for the underserved of the United States and in over 18 countries around the world.
Your donation helps fund additional master’s-level counseling scholarships for students committed to serving rural or military communities after graduation. With the strength of social media and powerful partnerships with donors like you, we can make a huge impact on mental health resources in our communities.
Help us reach our $500 goal by using your social media reach to promote our Human Race campaign and bridge the gap in mental health services for underserved communities!
Meet Nicole Gabriel
NBCC Foundation Military Scholar Recipient
As a 27-year military officer veteran and military spouse, Nicole Gabriel is helping to bridge the gap for service members and veterans to have access to better and more mental health services. In 2019, Ms. Gabriel received an $8,000 scholarship from the NBCC Foundation to support her counseling education and facilitate her service to military populations thanks to the generous contributions of NBCC Foundation donors.
NBCC Foundation military, minority, and rural scholarships, and capacity-building grants are made possible by donors who are inspired and motivated to help bridge the gap in mental health support for underserved and never-served communities around the world.
Through these initiatives, we will begin to fill the most critical gaps in mental health services in a sustainable and systematic way.
