BackPack Beginnings

BackPack Beginnings' mission is to provide child-centric services to feed, comfort and clothe children in need. Their fundraising goal for the #2020humanrace is $2,500. The money would be used to help replenish items we distributed for COVID-19. Primarily food, diapers and hygiene products.

Their population has been affected drastically by COVID-19.

"We have been called on to partner with Guilford County Schools and our other partner agencies to provide for the basic needs of children/families while schools are closed. We have increased our weekly food output by 30% but we are still not meeting the food needs. BackPack Beginnings is currently providing 2,300 weekend bags of food at 28 GCS Grab-and-Go, along with the regular food distributions we make to our non-school food pantries. Our second largest ask during these times are for diapers. One of our families said their participant goes to the door every morning and cries to come to our program. It has been hard on our participants as their daily structure and routine is changed, and they do not have the capability to understand the reasoning." says Parker White.
